Scrap Yard Internationals 18U is proud to announce that 2018 OF Kyndall Murray has signed her National Letter of Intent with Clemson University! Kyndall is a standout senior at Brazoswood High School in Clute, Texas, and has started at centerfield since her freshman season. She has gained three All-County and All-District honors, and just began playing with Scrap Yard Internationals in the Fall of 2017.
When asked about signing to be a Tiger, Kyndall said, “From the moment I stepped onto campus at Clemson University I knew it was where I wanted to be. The facilities are top notch, the people are so welcoming, and the traditions and hometown culture are very comforting. I’m so excited to have been given the opportunity to be a tiger and play for Coach Rittman! I can’t wait to see how much I will learn from him. This is such an awesome opportunity and I feel extremely blessed!”
Kyndall previously played three years with Sudden Impact and was coached by Todd Leach. Coach Leach was eager to give his thoughts on Kyndall’s signing, saying. “Kyndall Murray is a speedy five tool offensive threat and solid outfielder who has played for me since her freshman year and was originally committed to University of Louisiana - Lafayette, but due to changing circumstances at the University, Kyndall decided to explore other options before the early NLI signing date. One of Kyndall's options was Clemson University, who had just named John Rittman as the new Head Coach, and is starting a new softball program that will compete in the ACC. Coach Rittman is one of the best in the business and he was excited to hear the Kyndall was still available, after watching video of Kyndall and speaking with other coaches he invited her on an official visit and the rest is history. Kyndall is a perfect fit at Clemson and for Coach Rittman, and she will help that program compete at a very high level when they start ACC conference play in 2020.”
Though she’ll be moving away from home, Kyndall’s parents, Dale and Christi, are thrilled with Clemson, saying, “We cannot say enough about Clemson University and Coach Rittman. We are extremely excited and thankful that Kyndall was given the opportunity to play for him. We know that she will receive an amazing education, while learning and growing under Coach Rittman’s program. We all feel so blessed and are beyond excited to watch this program start up. This is such an awesome opportunity and we are very proud of Kyndall and all her accomplishments to get here. Go Tigers!”
Congratulations Kyndall and the Murray family!
